London’s Most Instagrammable Ice Creams

It’s National Ice Cream Day on 15 July 2018, which makes July National Ice Cream Month! And since it’s been such a fabulous summer so far, it’d be rude not to go and get your mitts on one of London’s most Instagrammable ice creams

1 Milk Train, Covent Garden
Milk Train serves up some of the most extravagant ice cream cones you’ve ever seen – and extravagance means likes, right? Bolster your soft serve ice cream with add candy floss, popcorn, Oreos or another other crazy concoction you can think of. There are so many outrageously delicious flavors it’s hard to choose, so you’re going to need to make multiple trips. Your Instagram feed will thank you for it.

2 SE Cakery, Lewisham
SE Cakery’s amazing Sundae Stacks are something else. Not for the faint-hearted, they start with a brownie base and work their way up to full sundae glory, complete with the likes of rocky road chunks, all inside a chocolate cupcake ‘case’. Then there are the Bruvnuts (that’s a brownie-stuffed doughnut ball, just so you know) and S’mores Shakes, which elaborate are SE Cakery-style freakshakes.

3 Mister Fitz’s Finest Ice Cream, Soho
Doughnut Time has launched a pop-up ice cream parlour, Mister Fitz’s Finest Ice Cream, which will offer an array of exciting confectionery-filled ice cream sandwiches, custom cones and tailor-made tubs throughout the summer. Choose from eight ice cream sandwiches, from the John Lemon (two lemon scoops served between vanilla cookies and topped with meringue) to the Choc-ella Deville (Nutella ice cream, a Nutella cookie and a Nutella crepe drizzle), or build your own ice cream cookie sandwich. There are two vegan-friendly options too.

4 Bake, China Town
Bake on Wardour Street serves up all sorts of novel, Far Eastern influenced treats, taking you on a gastro tour of baked goodies from Malaysia to Korea. Their latest Insta-hit is their take on a Japanese Taiyaki – a fish-shaped cake – filled with vanilla or matcha soft serve ice cream, or a swirly mix of both. They also serve ice cream in last year big Instaggram phenomenon – the waffle cone.

5 Blu Top, Brockley Market & Victoria Park
Blu Top’s amazing custom-built ice cream cookie sandwiches are some of the best in London. Head to the window of the pimped up Piaggio Porter van choose you cookie type, ice cream flavours and additional treats to go on the top et voila, you have one beast of an ice cream sarnie. The ice cream is all made in their Deptford kitchen using only natural ingredients.You’ll find them at Brockley Market on Saturdays and Victoria Park Market on Sundays.

6 Melba at The Savoy
Melba coffee shop at The Savoy is bringing back its popular summer treat – the icéclair. The summer icéclair is a light choux pastry filled with hand-made ice cream in a range of flavours – from pure dark chocolate to Sicilian pistachio – and topped with either chocolate, caramel or raspberry sauce, a dark, milk or white chocolate glaze and then fun toppings like popping candy, cookie dough, marshmallows and chocolate crunchy pearls.

7 Dum Dum Doughnuts, Boxpark Shoreditch & Croydon
Remember the cronut? Well how about one filled with ice cream? Named ‘The Crone’, this baked croissant dough ice cream cone is devilishly sweet, so do approach with caution! Although, the artisan Dum Dum Doughnuts are baked, not friend, so you might just get away with this epic treat… Try a cinamon cone filled with salted caramel banoffee ice-cream.

8 Amorino, various locations
You’ll spot Amorino branches all over central London in places like Soho, Chelsea, Covent Garden and Notting Hill, and there’s a reason for that. The menu has every flavour you could think of, from chocolate to banana to organic Sicilian citrus, in the form of dolci, macaroons and sorbet drinks. Amorino was Founded in 2002 by two childhood friends, Christiano and Paolo, who are both committed to providing traditional Italian gelato with no artificial colourings or flavours, just ice cream that’s churned everyday in a typical Italian fashion.

9 Pan-n-Ice, Harvey Nichols
Pan-n-Ice has launched in Harvey Nichols with a limited-edition flavour – Keep Jam and Carry Scone! Made with Harvey Nichols strawberry jam, a homemade scone and fresh clotted cream, with Pan-n-Ice’s ice-cream-roll twist. These Instagrammable ice cream rolls, inspired by the way ice cream is rolled out and served as a low calorie treat in Thailand, are also available in Oreo and Nutella, Strawberries and Raspberries and Ferrero Roche and Caramel Crunch flavours. Pan-n-Ice is available in Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge Fifth Floor Foodmarket until Sunday 9 September.

10 Fortnum and Mason, Piccadilly
Fortnum and Mason has launched new vegan ice cream and sorbet dishes for this summer. The Parlour at their flagship store will be featuring these dishes such as Coconut and Chocolate, Chocolate and Cashew, Avocado and Lime, to name a few. In all, 11 new flavors have been released and they are available in the form of scoops, sundaes or floats.

11 Soft Serve Society, Shoreditch
Soft Serve Society at Boxpark Shoreditch – and now Market Halls in Fulham – has figured out exactly what we want – elaborate ice cream constructions that look great on Instagram and taste even better. This fun-loving soft serve dessert bar creates chilled treats embellished with candy floss, Oreos, waffles, popcorn, honeycomb and more, as well as some killer freakshakes.

12 Ladurée, Burlington Arcade
For the month of July (excluding the 21st), Ladurée is parking its pretty ice-cream cart just inside the Piccadilly entrance of Burlington Arcade. Grab a taste of Ladurée luxury on the go, or take a seat and savour their exquisite ice-cream cups in flavours like rose, pistachio and caramel, all topped with one of Ladurée’s famously good macarons.

13 Biscuiteers, Battersea
Biscuiteers Icing Café in south west London now offers the only artisan biscuit-topped ice cream in the city. Ice cream flavours include classics such as chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, as well as salted caramel and strawberry sorbet, all served in cones topped with a lovingly baked and carefully hand-iced Biscuiteers biscuit.
