Game of Thrones Season Eight – the final series – hits US screens on 14 April 2019, simulcasting with a UK broadcast at 2am on Monday 15 April on Sky Atlantic (it will then be repeated at 9pm on 15 April in the UK, for those who value their sleep!). Finally! The long-awaited showdown will take place at Winterfell! But what about the action off-screen? 1 A Conference of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones at The Book Club, Shoreditch
Calling all Mothers of Dragons, White Walkers and die-hard Game of Thrones fans – The Book Club in Shoreditch is hosting a one-day conference and cos-play event on Sunday 14 April – the day before the final series of GOT finally airs on UK screens. The day-long conference, running from 11am-11pm, be a space for fans, writers and experts to convene in mutual celebration and speculation ahead of the final visit to Westeros. It will feature talks, panels, screenings, a quiz and more, all celebrating the cult series that has defined event television for almost a decade. The day will be divided into two sessions: Daytime Talks with short lectures from academics and a variety of panel discussions and debates on key topics from the show, along with an annotated panel screening of key moments from the series to date (from 11am, tickets £12); and the Evening Quiz, a fiendishly difficult, winner-takes-all quiz challenging your knowledge of the Game of Thrones TV series, along with themed cocktails and a great atmosphere (from 6pm, tickets £5). Cos-play is encouraged, but not required! Full day tickets are £15.

2 Dinner is Coming at The Vaults, Waterloo

Dinner Is Coming is a new immersive spoof dining experience inspired by Game of Thrones. Launching at The Vaults in Waterloo, the event blends an indulgent feast with theatre, comedy and an unhealthy dose of murder. The immersive dining experience will recreate the world of the Several Kingdoms, deep inside the Vaults’ underground tunnels, where you are invited to celebrate the marriage of Jaffrey Bearathon, heir to the Several Kingdoms, and Margarine, the beautiful daughter of the noble Trywell Family. But all is not always as it seems in the Several Kingdoms… On the night, you’ll be encouraged to dress in accordance to your chosen house – whether a richly decorated Lord or Lady from Easteros, an armoured warrior, or a rag-wearing peasant – and treated to a feast fit for the Several Kingdoms. There’s also a specially designed drinks menu. Choose your kingdom, pledge your allegiance and keep your wits about you as fellow revelers might just betray you… Tickets are £35-£55 (previews £30).

3 A Feast of Thrones at The Jugged Hare, the City
From the beaches of Dorne to the gates of the Red Keep, dinner is coming to The Jugged Hare. A Feast of Thrones is an immersive dinner experience that will transport you to a world of fiery dragons and fearsome White Walkers through a feast of culinary delights. Enter the opulent private Josephine Room and tuck into a five-course menu of hearty plates alongside the finest Dornish wines, while candles flicker and live acoustic music from the Game of Thrones soundtrack plays throughout. Dishes include Hot Pie’s wolf bread with smoked bone marrow butter, crispy kraken salad, pigeon pie cut with Valyrian steel, and the wild boar that killed Robert Baratheon. To round off, dig into Sansa’s favourite lemon cakes, glazed with a honey syrup, as well as the Fire & Ice finale of whiskey and chilli chocolate, featuring Johnny Walker’s limited-edition White Walker whiskey. 7.30pm. 4 Rave of Thrones, Electric Brixton
The Rave Of Thrones immersive music experience will transform Electric Brixton into a fantastical kingdom of ice and fire with weapons and relics of Westeros hanging from all corners. Kristian Nairn, AKA Hodor, will headline the event as an established DJ in his own right. He will provide the soundtrack against a Westeros castle replica backdrop with flamethrowers and blizzards, as Jon Snow shows his warrior skills among the sword fighting Wildlings and knights roaming the floor. A replica Iron Throne has been commissioned for all to experience during the course of the evening, and you might even brush shoulders with Daenarys and her remaining dragon children as you enjoy the bone trembling sound system with a band of Wildlings or Westeros noblemen and women. Other talent on the bill includes My Friend, Goldierocks, Laura Pradelska and Muzz Khan. 10pm-5am. Tickets from £25.

5 Game of Thrones Tattoo Studio, Soho
Get inked at a one-of-a-kind tattoo studio when NOW TV takes over the The Circle tattoo studio in Soho, offering 16 different Game of Thrones-inspired tattoo designs by guest tattooist to the stars, Lauren Winzer. Targaryen supporters will love the homage to Daenerys’ dragons, Stark fans might choose Arya’s legendary Needle, and Lannister loyalists should check out the heroic Lion sigil. The Circle has been given a Seven Kingdoms makeover and you’ll be able to stream episode one of the final season on NOW TV while getting your tattoo done. All tats will be inked by either Winzer, who created and inked Sophie Turner’s iconic The Pack Survives tattoo, or by one of a team of first-class tattooists from The Circle. 6 The Iron Throne Comes to King’s Cross
Game of Thrones’ iconic Iron Throne is off on a tour the UK and Ireland to celebrate the show’s final season, and to celebrate, Sky Atlantic is taking the throne to seven cities across the UK and Ireland. Followers of the multi award-winning programme, based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books, will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be pictured on the show’s hotly contested seat of power, so follow in the footsteps of Kings Robert, Joffrey, Tommen and Queen Cersei by taking your place on the throne.
